Questions & Answer about
Web Site Skinning
Free
Gifts
With some products (i.e. over £800
in value) customers can choose a free gift from a drop down on the product page.
This is then remembered and stored with the customers order. How can Tradepoint
best handle this?
It could be done with
the accessories functionality. The addToCart.ascx
could be updated to allow for this choice based on the accessories and then
automatically add that item to the cart at 0 value as well when the add to cart
is chosen.
Insurance
In cases where a customer would want
to offer Insurance with a product through their web site, for
example to offer a 3 year insurance plan with its watches for a free,
this is offered in the shopping basket at the moment. There is table of
prices the system has (i.e, watches between £100 -£200 its £30 for the
insurance). How can we achieve this in Tradepoint?
The best way to do
this would be to set up each insurance level as a separate product.
Then the insurance product can be used and set up as an accessory of the product
within Tradepoint in the Product listings. This would be the any of the watches
that are applicable for it.
You could then use
this to link up the insurance options on the add to cart as above.
