Suggested System Requirements for NEW Hardware Purchases

Although Tradepoint can run on relatively old hardware, when purchasing new equipment we recommend the following specifications:

Servers (< 50 network users connected):

1. Core2Duo 2.6 ghz or higher
2. 2 Gigabytes of 800mhz DDR2 memory or more
3. RAID 1 SATA controller on motherboard
4. Two 7200 RPM hard drives, 250 Gigabytes or more each in RAID 1 configuration
5. Windows 2003 Server (one licence per network user)
6. SQL Server 2005 (one licence per network user)
7. Gigabit Ethernet Card
8. Any video card
9. Any monitor
10. Any Keyboard/mouse

Servers (> 50 network users connected):

1. Intel QuadCore 2.8 ghz or higher
2. 4 Gigabytes of 1.3ghz DDR2 Memory or more
3. RAID 5 SATA Controller
4. 3 or more 10,000 RPM Raptor SATA hard drives (or SCSI 15,000 RPM drives) in RAID 5.
5. Windows 2003 Server (one licence per network user)
6. SQL Server 2005 (one licence per network user)
7. Gigabit Ethernet Card
8. Any video card
9. Any monitor
10. Any Keyboard/mouse

Network Workstations (Desktops connected directly to the server):

1. Core2Duo 2.6 ghz or higher
2. At least 1 gigabyte of RAM, 2 recommended
3. SATA 7200 RPM Hard Drive
4. Gigabit Ethernet on motherboard
5. Windows Vista Business Edition
6. Any Video Card (DVI output recommended for LCD Monitors)
7. Widescreen LCD monitor (19" or larger)

Laptops or Remote computers:

1. Core2Duo 1.8 ghz or higher
2. 2 gigabytes of RAM
3. 60 Gigabyte+ 7200 RPM Hard drive (5400 RPM is ok but not preferable)
4. Ethernet, 802.11g wireless built in
5. Windows Vista Business Edition
6. 1280x800 or higher resolution recommended (WXGA)
