What makes Tradepoint a Centralized Solution
Jul/6/2005
Some
technological advancements happen as a result of research engineers going wild
with their imaginations, such as with the Segway Transporter, and some are borne
because their inventors are driven to solve shortcomings with existing
situations. Often in these situations a common comment heard is, “wouldn't it be
nice if...” or “I can't believe we don't have a way to...” or “why doesn't our
organization function in this way...”
So it is with Tradepoint, the first true turnkey solution for
businesses and organizations. Virtually everyone who has belonged to any
organization for months or years has already expressed amazement that something
like Tradepoint has not been utilized in their organization. Often this has been
expressed as frustration towards the IT department, where the general workforce
assumed that because computers existed, synchronizing all areas of the
organizations was readily achievable.
Before computers, organizations utilized
cumbersome, yet deliberate and organized paper trails to execute and track their
efforts. As computers began to be employed, members of organizations watched
dollars spent on computer systems, in fact sometimes on multiple generations of
computer systems, in the name of efficiency and reduction of waste. At first,
members were proud to be associated with a progressive organization that was
willing to be on the cutting edge of technology, and thankful for the benefits
that would result. But then, as the years went by, a common theme began to be
heard.
It usually occurred at the water cooler,
or cubicle section, or during a smoke break. The conversations would go
something like this:
-
“Can you believe the inefficiency that
occurs between departments? Each area takes information, inputs it into a
computer which then generates more paperwork, which is then delivered to other
departments. This same exercise is repeated again and again through each stage
of the process until the product or service has been performed and payment
received. It's no different than before computers were used, except for the
fact that now, in addition to keeping hard copies of documentation, we also
save files electronically. [here's the most important part of the common
complaint:] Why can't each departments' systems communicate with each other,
or see and “crunch” the data that is already stored electronically? It seems
that with today's technology, all processing should be able to be done
electronically, without the paperwork and delays we now
see!”
Another way to state the above is, “Why
doesn't our organization utilize Tradepoint?
Again, practically everyone in practically
every organization has expressed the above. One of the main jobs
of Tradepoint360 Inc. is to inform the key people in an
organization that their desire, as stated above, is now satisfiable
and assist them in rolling out the solution they've always
wanted.
Once word gets out, that we have the
solution that they have always wanted, Katie bar the
door!
